RESIDENTIAL (Full board), Elementary to Advanced, Ages12-19

Bristol Residential Image 1

Bristol, a large vibrant city with two universities is on the estuary of the River Avon. It is some 190 km to the west of London and easily and directly accessed from the London to Bristol M4. Flights to and from Bristol International Airport connect directly with many major cities. Find out how to get to Bristol.

Bristol It is a very characterful city, contemporary yet with a rich history and cultural heritage, including many centuries as a major port for sea trade. The traditional parts of the city contrast with the impressive Harbourside millennium development. The new Broadmead Shopping Centre, opened in 2009, offers visitors three hundred shops, bars and cafes.

Our course takes place at Hiatt Baker Hall, University of Bristol, located in a beautiful residential area, very c lose to the Downs, on the northwest side; yet only a fifteen-minute bus ride from the heart of the city.

English lessons [click to expand / minimise]

There are four forty-five-minute lessons on four mornings each week and three on two afternoons. Your course encourages you to make the most of your stay in England by concentrating on spoken English, giving you maximum opportunity to practise both inside and outside the teaching sessions.

You may be working to improve your skills in English grammar or increasing your vocabulary. You may be learning to be more confident in speaking and listening so that you communicate in a more relaxed and easy manner with members of our staff during leisure time and with your new friends on the course! The common language is, of course, English! You’ll need your English, too, when you are out on excursions and when you are doing your shopping!

You learn through working in pairs and groups, acting out relevant, real life situations and working on assignments or projects inside the teaching room or outside.

There will be an excursion preparation lesson on the day before each full-day excursion and a follow-up lesson on the day after.

Activities and excursions [click to expand / minimise]
