BUXTON » 4 WEEK INTENSIVE IELTS » 20/7 - 17/8 2008
THE TOWN
Buxton is situated at the heart of the beautiful rolling hills of the
Peak District, amid some of England’s most stunning scenery, yet only
40 minutes from Manchester’s International airport. East Midlands
and Birmingham International airports are also within easy reach. Its
rich history features Roman settlers, royal prisoners and outlaws. The
town was transformed in the 18th Century into a spa town to rival Bath
and Cheltenham, and its mineral water is sold all over the world.
THE COURSE CENTRE
Lessons will take place in the Great Dome, one of the largest
unsupported domes in the world. This spectacular teaching facility also
houses a modern dining room and computer facilities.
RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
High Peak Halls is situated a very short walk from the town centre and
train station. The single, en-suite, study bedrooms are arranged in flats,
each with its own kitchen, and there is a comfortable common room with TV
and a launderette for students’ use.
