I have worked in the English as a Foreign Language world for many years. I obtained my degrees and general teaching qualification at the University of London, and later qualified in teaching EFL. I have taught abroad and have, for a number of years, run EFL departments in local government colleges in the UK.

I have worked with EJO since the 1970s and have been a director since 2001. I work with Steve Oliver on the preparation of our different programmes and spend a lot of time in our centres making sure that our courses run to the highest standards.

I used to live on an island on the River Thames near London and have always enjoyed river boating and travelling. I now live not far from Guildford with my partner of twenty years. We have a home full of animals and a large garden to be cared for!

I have been involved in EFL since 1993 and started my career as a teacher in Poland. I spent several very happy years there teaching in a primary school, a private high school and at the University of Opole (and getting used to the very cold winters). I also worked as an oral examiner for the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency examinations. I have also taught here in the UK and in Belgium where I worked in two different language schools teaching groups of children and teenagers and adults on a one to one and small group basis. My EJO career began in 1996 as a teacher at a homestay summer centre and I have also managed residential centres (including our Rickmansworth centre). I joined the head office team on a full-time basis in 2002 and am involved in education and operations. I am responsible for putting together all aspects of the programmes and recruiting the staff to work in our different centres. I also manage ourintensive English Home Lessons programmes. If you take a Home Lessons course will either meet me or speak to me as I visit many courses. If I cannot visit your course I will call to speak to you.

I am married with a young son, William. He was born in July 2011 and so keeps me fully occupied when I am not working. If I do have any free time I like to play golf or do something connected with music. I have always wanted to learn to play the saxophone, so maybe in the future William and I can learn together!

Andrew Pritchard, Partner

I originally trained as an English teacher and have spent most of my working life in EFL. I have been involved in teaching, teacher training, academic and school management and marketing. I have worked and lived in the UK, Spain, Africa and Italy during my career and travel has always been an important and exciting part of my life. I joined EJO in 1994 and since then have been mainly responsible for promoting EJO and helping our students and clients choose the best course for their needs. It’s my job to make the booking process as simple as possible, to answer your questions and to help you before during and after your stay with us.

I'm married with 3 children and in my spare time I enjoy sailing, rugby (Cymru am byth) golf and walking.
