EJO Group Homestay Programmes - Group Learning with English Families

Year Round Homestay Programmes

Group HomestayA homestay experience is quite simply the best way to improve your command of English. It consolidates what is taught during lessons and also provides students with a cultural experience, which cannot be replicated on a residential course.

We specialise in homestays and have been accommodating students with carefully selected hosts for over 50 years. As one of our clients recently said “EJO understands homestays and that’s why we come to you”.

With the exception of two weeks at Easter and in July, EJO offers homestay programmes for groups year round. We can cater for school groups, groups who want to come with their own transport, groups wishing to study a specific topic or project such as British culture, history, sport or media and also groups of adults who might want to improve their English for business purposes. All our programmes can be tailored to your specific needs. Lessons are in closed groups and so everything is designed to your requirements.

We’ve put together a couple of sample programmes for your information BUT don’t wait until the summer to come to England. We can help year round to plan an educational, cost-effective, fun and unforgettable package for your group. Just let us know your requirements and we’ll be very happy to send you a quotation.

Situated just 40 minutes to the south of London, Guildford is a sparkling University town with great shopping, sports and cultural facilities. It’s the perfect choice for a group wishing to be close to London and our sample week programme includes two full-day excursions to the capital as part of the package.

The county town of Royal Berkshire, Reading is about as close to London as you can get without paying London prices. As well as being rich in culture, and having a huge and varied modern shopping centre, Reading is an area of high tech industry, banking and financial services. Situated to the west of London, it is very close to Heathrow and Gatwick and perfectly placed for visits to London and further afield.

Bristol is the capital of the West Country, a thriving, lively and exciting University city and the last stop in England before you cross the Severn Bridge to the glorious Principality of Wales. The only centre where you can visit two countries for the price of one, we include a full day excursion to the capital of Wales, Cardiff in the programme and also give you the opportunity to experience the sights and smells of the famous Roman Baths in the beautiful city of Bath. Who needs London with all that the West Country has to offer? Well if you do need London, we’ll add it into your programme. It’s only two hours away and if you want to make the most of it, we’ll book tickets for you on the fast train service, which will avoid the traffic and take you straight to the heart of the capital.

We’ll design a programme to your needs and if you want something special like a trip to a West End Theatre show or a professional guided tour, we’ll get you the best prices possible and add it into your package. However, all programmes include the following:

  • 20x45 minutes of lessons per week with a qualified experienced teacher. Lessons are in closed classes, so we can tailor the teaching programme to you requirements
  • Course materials
  • 7 nights full-board (packed lunch on programme days) accommodation with carefully inspected homestay hosts. We usually place two students of the same sex together in a shared room
  • Two full-day excursions including entrances in a one week 7 night/8 day stay
  • The assistance of our local staff and accommodation organiser
  • Return transfer from all London airports for groups visiting Reading or Guildford including our escort on arrival and from Bristol Airport for groups visiting Bristol (transfers to and from other airports can be arranged at extra cost and we’ll let you know what that might be when you tell us your travel arrangements. We can also book National Express coach tickets for groups arriving at Heathrow or Gatwick for Bristol. National Express coaches are cheap, efficient, fast and you catch them from right outside the airport terminal)
  • A local bus pass. Students travel to and from their host's home to school each day using local bus services. We’ll provide you with a bus pass for the duration of your course. You’ll be shown how to use the buses, where to get on and off and also have a comprehensive, easy to use EJO travel map to help you.
  • 24 hour emergency telephone service
  • One free group leader place based on a minimum of 15 paying participants in your group

All you’ll need is a little personal spending money (pocket money) for souvenirs, the odd ice cream or presents for loved ones at home.

Intensive English Courses for adults where the focus is on improving your language skills as quickly and efficiently as possible.
